What if your emails did a handstand?
What if, instead of "....thanks for your patience during this time.." to cushion the fall after bad news, you handed out parachutes early?
What if you STARTED every conversation with, "Thanks!" today?
How would your relationships improve with your members; your staff; your vendors; your prospective Family members?
"Hey Sarah, thanks for your hard work last night. Here are some things I'd like you to keep practicing for the rest of the week...."
"Thanks for your insightful post on Facebook. I don't agree that we should be against corporate tax cuts, but I'm glad to know that others are as passionate about the issue as I am."
"Thanks for opening up a new CrossFit box and helping us spread the word. I'm glad that aspiring business owners are inspired by our success!"
It's easier to spur action with "Thanks!" than with "Please." Why not start there?
(Thanks, Dave, for the great email this morning. You saved everyone else from a rant on corporate tax cuts.)
Some great reading: Steven Pressfield on Virtuosity.
Nice post dude....and sweetness for posting to Steven Pressfield- if you've yet to read his "War of Art," go get it, it applies to all of us
